Welcome to eDRIVE, the Northern Ireland Electric Vehicle (EV) event, brought to you by ecar. This 3 day event will showcase the latest in EV recharging infrastructure in Northern Ireland, as well as the vehicles themselves. And you will get the chance to actually test drive the vehicles, giving you that crucial “Touch, Taste, Feel Experience”.

The Department for Regional Development and Department of the Environment have put Northern Ireland in a position whereby EV’s are now a viable everyday solution, and this event is designed to show you how. After receiving funding in Round 2 of the Plugged in Places (PiP) scheme, funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), and other regional partners, the ecar project aims to ensure that drivers are never far from an electric vehicle charging point. Added to this, the region is beginning to see take-up of electric vehicle interest, helped by the introduction of the Plug-In Car and Van Grants.

Come to eDRIVE and let us give you a driving experience like no other. We have a 3 day programme, with each day catering for the different requirements of those still in education, who can help shape the future of EV’s in Northern Ireland, those in business that operate a fleet of vehicles and also the general public.

Anyone wishing to drive on the day must bring both parts of their drivers licence with them. Click here to register, free.

Education Day – Wednesday 6th March

We kick-off with an Education Day for students from schools and colleges across Northern Ireland. As the generation which will be making the shift to de-carbonised transport, this day is crucial in shaping the future of EV use in everyday business and private lives. The day will be split in to a morning session and an afternoon session and students will be shown informative presentations, plus get the chance to test drive the latest EV’s on the market. Each will be issued with an information pack, designed to give them everything they need to “spread the word” to their classmates and younger students, and there will be refreshments and lunch provided too.

Business Day – Thursday 7th March

Day 2 is for Fleet and Business professionals in Northern Ireland. Any organisation that runs a fleet of any kind, from a handful to hundreds of vehicles, can save money by introducing EV’s in to their transport operations, and at the same time reduce their carbon emissions. With keynote presentations throughout the day, from EV specialists, this is a must attend event for any company that is considering the introduction of EVs in to their fleet. No doubt you will have questions and concerns? eDRIVE will be able to answer these for you, and the Departmental Ministers will also address the audience, so you will hear, first-hand, what the government can do to help your business embrace EV technology. On the day you will not only get to talk to the EV manufacturers and test drive the vehicles, but also speak to experts that can assist in leasing and rental, recharging technology solutions, battery technology and much more. Attendance is free, including the seminars, and includes test drives, refreshments and a buffet lunch.  Anyone wishing to drive on the day must bring both parts of their drivers licence with them.  Click here to register, free.

Public Day – Friday 8th March

The climax is a day for the general public of Northern Ireland to also share in the EV experience. A short presentation every hour will give those that attend an overview of what is available in terms of home and public recharging technology, and will be coupled with the chance to test drive the EVs as well, courtesy of the car manufacturers there on the day. Attendance is FREE, including the presentation and test drives.  Anyone wishing to drive on the day must bring both parts of their drivers licence with them.
